Within the framework of the “Pacto por el Desarrollo y la Competitividad” endorsed by the Regional Government, and in conjunction with various different social agents, a number of finance facilities have been created, amongst which Venture Capital is of particular importance.
In response to this commitment, towards the end of 2006 the Regional Government of Castilla-la Mancha and SEPIDES signed and agreement establishing the bases for a joint effort to promote the economic development of the region, making use of venture capital services.
The organisations entrusted with the responsibility of putting this cooperation into practice are Instituto de Finanzas de Castilla-La Mancha and SEPI Desarrollo Empresarial S.A.. A venture capital fund called the
CLM Castilla-La Mancha Business Investment Fund, F.C.R., has been established for this purpose.
The Fund has an initial net worth of €8,000,000, the initials participants contributing 50%. In November 2007 another participant, Caja Rural de Ciudad Real, have been incorporated to the capital with €2,000,000 more. Three parts are responsible for the promotion of the fund, which has a planned duration of 12 years, extendable for a further 3 years.
The Fund is at all moments subject to Law 25/2005 of 24th November, concerning the Regulation of Venture Capital Entities and their Fund Management Companies.
